Mobile phones are still a tricky area when talked about the health and safety issues in our world today. We as a society are warned about the health risks they present to the unwary user and how they will cook our brains and riddle our bodies with cancer. Whilst some of these concerns and criticisms of mobile phones have been grossly exaggerated there is no smoke without fire and so some of the concerns that have been raised thus far, actually are legitimate and therefore, worthy of consideration.
One such criticism of mobile phones that is credible is the accusation that they contain toxic metals that pose a significant amount of risk and harm to organic life as a whole and this in turn creates a number of pitfalls and problems whenever we try to recycle them. The simple truth of the matter is that if you are wondering how you could recycle your own cell phone, then stop wondering, as it is nearly impossible to correctly recycle mobile phones yourself without the right equipment and disposal machines.
There is a tendency upon hearing the word recycling to automatically associate and stereotype it with something being melted down or crushed and then the remains of the carcass being reused. In truth, whilst this is an aspect of recycling it is by no stretch of the imagination the whole thing and as such, the ordinary consumer is entirely capable of “recycling” their mobile phones.
Given that recycling is all about ensuring that an item that is no longer used by a particular person is then used
in a different manner, the ordinary consumer can ensure that they pass on their unwanted phone to someone else. Whether this be a family member, a friend or even to charity, rest assured there will be someone out there who can make use of your unwanted mobile phone.
As your cell phone contains a number of different toxins and dangerous chemicals you must confident as to what you are doing, it is imperative that you do not attempt to dissemble the phone yourself. If in doubt, hand it over to the experts who will be aware of the correct manner to recycle the phone and to do so in the safest manner possible. In fact they will pay you to recycle your phone for you…. So why would you ever try and do it for yourself? Wasting your time, effort and getting no reward for it!
