Jolla unveiled their first phone
Jolla just now release pictures and information on the first phone running Sailfish OS. It will be available in Q4 2013. Read more after the break!
The phone has a minimalistic design with no hardware buttons on the front. The input will be done via gestures. The back is a removable cover which they call the “Other Half”. What’s intersting is that the color of the back cover can influence the style of the user interface. It will be interesting to see the phone in action.
Not much is known about the specifications of the hardware, but they give us a little bit of information. The screen is a 4.5″ Estrada display and it is powered by a dual-core processor. It will also have 4G connectivity. The Jolla phone is also equipped with a 8 megapixels camera with autofocus. The internal memory is 16GB and there is a slot for SD-card.
The phone will be avaliable in Q4 2013 and cost €399 contract free.
You can pre-order the phone from Jollas website. There is three per-order alternatives. There are the regular free choise. But you can also choose to pay a fee of €40 or €100 where you get a limited edition Jolla handset, t-shirt and for the more expensive option you also get a limited edition Other Half and more. The money you pay will help Jolla develope the phone and OS even more.
